The Wiltshire Masonic Caravan Association
The Wiltshire Masonic Caravan Association was formed in the Spring of 1980, with the extremely clear objective ‘To further the interests and enjoyment of Freemasons, their families and friends in the pastime of caravanning by organising rallies and allied activities.” To enable members and their families to enjoy week-ends rallies with each other and members of other Provinces in a relaxed manner.. Currently they hold four/six rallies each year, usually after Easter, around Spring Bank Holiday, in June/July and mid-August. In early October an Annual Dinner is held. It is hoped to hold a rally on the Continent biannually.

Our membership has seen a small decrease again this year again due to illness etc, our rallies like last year are relatively small, but it is thought that they were beneficial to all who were able to attend.
Our Autumn Rally was at Cirencester Caravan Club Site, 6 units attended and an excellent lunch was organized for the Saturday at the Corinium Hotel Cirencester. This proved a very positive venue as some members took part without bringing their caravans. The weather was kind to us and after the lunch we all returned to the site and enjoyed a cup of tea and the rally secretary’s sherry. The Provincial Grand Master attended and thanked the members for their warm welcome and generous hospitality. All in all a very successful rally, good weather, good company, good food and good wine who could ask for more.
The second rally was to be at Bromyard Down Caravan Site but due to some very unforeseen circumstances only the chairman managed to attend. Illness and departures to higher office have taken there toll this year.
Our Spring Bank Holiday Rally was at the Stow-on-Wald Rugby Club where 6 units attended and we all settled down to chill out after a hectic start to the year. One thing we are all certain of is the wind really does blow at Stow. We all went to a local hostelry for a meal over the weekend and were given a warm welcome good service and very good meal.
Ardecca at Blunsdon was our next venue only 3 units attended but we did have a good time. Iris and Pat decided to visit us without their van and on the Sunday we all went out to a carvery to eat a hearty meal. The weather was very kind to us and the market in Blunsdon was visited to sustain the retail therapy on more than one occasion.
August is the time for our AGM rally and this was held at our spiritual home at Cricket Bat Field Radcot where 12 units attended. The Friday evening get together was held in a small option of the Masons Arms and as always we had a very good evening catching up with all the news from near and far. On Saturday our B.B.Q was held in the Masons Arms, a reminder of past years. Again a great quantity of food was eaten and likewise liquid refreshment consumed. The evening entertainment was enjoyed by all. On Sunday at the AGM our chairman W Bro Keith Baker welcomed the membership, and as in past years stated that we did need more members and that everyone should do their best to encourage more Llodge secretaries to advertise our existence. All our other officers with the exception of John Moray and George Leverage, were returned to serve another year, each in turn confirming that they would do their best to keep the association on an even keel to the best of their ability. A full programme was put to the members and approved for the coming year (2012).
