Provincial Clay Shooting Team

A chance meeting at a Lodge meeting led Peter Dyke to think about a Provincial Clay Shooting Team

One can only wonder how the meeting was going and what was going through his mind when Peter Dyke, Master of Wiltshire Lodge of Agriculture No 9090 thought of 'Clay Shooting'

Peter attended a meeting of The Vale of Mendip Lodge and enjoyed the company of Arthur Hills who runs the Mendip Shooting Ground. On finding that Peter was from 'over the border' in Wiltshire, Arthur invited him to join The Lodge in a clay shoot against the other South Western counties, sadly the date clashed with the Wiltshire Lodge of Agriculture clay shoot (ain't that the way)

Not one to be deterred the intrepid Peter liaised with Graham Payne who organises the Masonic inter county shoot (yes there really is such a thing) and as a result he has organised two dates for 2012.

If you are interested in shooting clays and would like to represent the Province of Wiltshire the dates and venues already agreed are Saturday 28 April 2012 at the Mendip Shooting Ground in Somerset. The second fixed date is the 23 June 2012 at Cart Ridge Shooting Ground in Cornwall.

The Provincial Grand Master is delighted to support the formation of a Provincial Clay Shooting Association and knows that apart from targeting Clays the association will encourage sporting friendship within the Province and beyond.

Freemasons from Wiltshire who enjoy clay shooting and would like to meet and compete with other Provinces, please contact Peter Dyke on 07770 1054314.

Thanks for the new website, it looks like a great improvement, much easier to use and much more informative.
