The Provincial Dinner held at Melksham

The Provincial Dinner held at Melksham on Saturday 11 February also saw the launch of ‘Freemasonry Cares’ and a visit from Laura Chapman the Chief Executive of the Freemasons’ Grand Charity.

In his welcome address the Provincial Grand Master made mention of the importance of the wives and partners of Freemasons throughout the Province, a subject also covered by Laura in her address to the 250 people attending.

“Many Freemasons do not speak to their wives  - at least not about anything Masonic – wives tend to take responsibility for the health and welfare of a family, often outlive their husbands and then need help themselves”

Remember that ‘Freemasonry Cares’ is there for them when you are not.

“So Ladies, you can see that you have an important role to play in helping to spread the Freemasonry Cares message”

In his remarks, Francis Wakem, urged the audience to never forget that giving financial support also conveys emotional support for the work of a charity’s professional staff and volunteers and through them to the members of our community in receipt of those services ~ and to those touched by the individual’s circumstances or distress

“I remain very optimistic about the future of Freemasonry in Wiltshire.  We are a small Province but have big hearts ~ we …. Live Well; Laugh Often; and Love Much .... ~ we are ordinary people who together form an important part of local communities; we take time to share our Freemasonry with others - our family and friends; and most important of all - we enjoy our Freemasonry and have fun
