Deacon's Workshop

ImageStephen Bridge APrGM and the Provincial Mentoring Team held a Deacons’ Workshop at the Chippenham Masonic Hall on Saturday 7th May 2016 - and what a success it was.

The programme for the morning was extremely comprehensive and proved to be popular with the thirty Brethren who attended.

Philip Bullock PrGM attended the workshop and afterwards commented "My sincere thanks for the most informative Deacons Workshop, the pace and interaction with the attendees pitched just perfectly imparting such valuable information and advice. There cannot be a better Masonic educational workshop in the Country that delivers so well and so structured as ours, clearly I am extremely proud of what each member of the team achieved today".  High praise indeed.

The workshop set out to supplement the excellent work already being undertaken by Lodge Mentors and Preceptors in preparing Brethren for a new role.  In addition to specific guidance it also focussed on areas such as ritual learning techniques, the art of perambulation and how to guide the candidate through the intricacies of the different ceremonies.

There was a buzz in the room which suggested the attendees were focussed on what was being said and afterwards a number of Brethren expressed the wish for the Mentoring Team to hold further workshops.  It was clear that there is an appetite for learning more about our Ancient and Honourable Institution.
