Another fabulous Ladies Night...........
On Friday the 26 April , Longleat Lodge No.1478, held a very successful Ladies Night at the Warrant Officers and Sergeants Mess in Warminster, with over a 100 members and guests attending.
The tables looked splendid dressed with the mess sliver, (which we assured members was not part of the raffle) and the colour scheme was the colours of the Black Watch.
A wonderful evening was had by all, and the grand sum of £660 was raised from the raffle for the Worshipful Masters- Jim Russell, chosen charity. “The My Name5 Doddie Foundation” which puts money into research for Motor Neurone Disease, and gives grants to help those who are suffering.
Ladies night a huge success..............
On Saturday the 23rd April, Longleat Lodge No.1478 held a very successful ladies night at the beautiful Leigh Park Country House Hotel in Bradford-on-Avon.
The ladies looked splendid and the evening was well supported by members of other Lodges.
The function room had a beautiful burgundy colour scheme, and the hotel even set out the champagne flutes for the reception in the form of the square and compasses (unfortunately they were all consumed before we could take a photo)
A wonderful evening was had by all and the grand sum of £430 was raised from the raffle for Worshipful Master - Dirk Pinnell's chosen charity - Bath Cancer Support Unit.
When Bro Gary Dolphin visited Longleat Lodge No. 1478 for the recent meeting at which Bro Dirk Pinnell was Installed as Master by his predecessor W.Bro. Brian Weedon, he really didn't expect to uncover what at first view appears to be a fantastic coincidence.
Three Lodge officers who were sat next to each other at the festive board have the same birthdate - yes the 16th May is a special date for all three.
Photograph shows the three birthday boys L-R:- .Bro. Colin Ayton (D.C.), Bro. Brian Weedon (I.P.M.) standing, and Bro. Neil Evans (Chaplain).
What we didn't check is how many years separate our triumvirate (any guesses will be very welcome)
